Epson Home Cinema 1080 home theater

by: Kevin Johnson

"A little over a year and a half ago, I went to a buddy's house and was astonished as he showed me a movie on a 10 foot wide screen. Afterwards, he showed me how he did it using a small shelf-mounted LCD projector across the room. I was instantly hooked.

Being a huge movie buff, I got the wife's permission to convert one of our unused bedrooms (12' x 14.5') into a true home theater. We repainted, carpeted, covered up a pesky window, installed home theater seating and a 10 foot wide screen. We converted the walk in closet into a projection / equipment booth. After adding some cinema decor, the stage was set. Now we only needed the performer.

We did quite a bit of research on projectors and vendors and decided to go with Projector People for our first projector purchase. The Sanyo Z2 (a 720p LCD projector) was our initial choice. We bought it and shelf mounted it in our projection booth. The image was amazing on our 134" diagonal fixed frame screen. This projector served us well for the past year and a half.

Our experience with Projector People and our wonderful salesperson (Stacey) was so good, that when it came time to upgrade to 1080p, we immediately knew who to call. We recently purchased and installed the Epson Powerlite Home Cinema 1080. It's a 1080p 3 chip LCD projector that gives a better image than any multiplex we've ever seen. We play HD-DVDs on our Toshiba XA2 and BluRays on our Sony PS3. The projected image is perfection.

Coupled with 6.1 surround sound and complete light control, it's now time to sit back, relax, and pass the popcorn. I used to be among those who equated owning a plasma or a big screen TV with having a home theater. Not now. Projection is the only way to go and Projector People are the only ones to make it happen!

Thanks Projector People!"
